What is Advanced Dynamics? What is this blog about? What am I expected to find here? If you’re acquainted with Orbea’s full suspension bikes, you must be familiar with the term ‘Advanced Dynamics.’ Our Rallon and Occam models were developed out of the Advanced Dynamics Program. Their innovative rear suspension systems were fully optimized to deliver the best performance in this sector. So now what? No, we’re not nuts. This is Orbea’s first blogging experience on the study and analysis of full suspension bikes. Here we want to show you what we do and how we do it. We want to share what we’ve learned with you, and we want you to be part of this. If you like full suspension bikes and how they work, this is the right place for you. Welcome!
Market demands are becoming increasingly sophisticated. Users are now real experts. Consequently, innovation projects must be carefully elaborated for best development and results. At the Orbea Advanced Dynamics blog we want to tell you all the ins and outs of the project we’re developing – a project you can take part in.
We want to develop the best analysis tool to create the best full suspension platform ever available. Using a metaphor to give you a clear idea, we want to create the Wind Tunnel of full suspension bikes.
At Orbea we always set out to come up with the best bikes every season, offering users the products that best suit their needs. Since we begin by analyzing basic and individual user needs, we’d like you to be part of this project, sharing your opinions so that we can adjust our designs to suit you.
- 1-Project goal: make the best suspension bike ever
- 2-We want you to follow step by step the evolution of this project
- 3-We want you to be part of this project
Teamwork
The project has brought together four organizations. They’ll join efforts and work together. The Biomechanics Institute of Valencia (IBV) will analyze full suspension mountain bike user demands, irrespective of users’ experience. Orbea will lead the way in the design and manufacture of outdoor sport solutions. Tenneco Marzocchi develops world-class suspension systems. Finally, the Applied Mechanics Department at the Center of Studies and Technical Research (CEIT) will study a series of mountain bike design and performance parameters.
Tenneco, IBV, CEIT, Orbea want to develop an analysis tool to create the best full suspension platform ever available. Using a metaphor to give you a clear idea, we want to create the Wind Tunnel of full suspension bikes.
We want this R&D project to take us one step beyond. After two years’ work, we’re now ready to develop a new full suspension bike concept – a goal yet to be set. And we’ll tell you about the development of this project here, step by step. We’ll publish information on the various stages of the project. And let us tell you again, if you’re interested, you can join us. So keep track of us. Welcome to the Advanced Dynamics blog. Welcome to a new dimension.
