The angular design of the Alma is a product of our forward thinking at Orbea. One of the most recognizable details on the Alma Silver is the patented down tube that acts as a fender in poor conditions.

You'll see that we don't list the bike weight. In reality we want you to go to your local Orbea dealer to feel the bike for yourself. Weight it against a similar bike at the shop. Throw a leg over it, and take it for a spin. Carbon GSB

Orbea Carbon enables us to create structures with optimum stiffness, strength, and vibration absorption. Three levels offer the right blend of performance and value.

    We've used our experience and know-how to design three carbon categories. We call them Orbea Carbon Gold, Silver, and Bronze. Each is made of a distinct blend of fibers with differing density, elasticity, and strength. Stiffer, high modulus fibers are great for lightweight frames intended for elite competition. And while we're all about performance, we know that comfort is a concern for many riders. That's why part of our grading process looks at vibration absorption qualities. Strength and durability are of paramount importance as well since we offer you a lifetime warranty on our bikes.

    All of these considerations demand the blending of different fiber types with carefully designed layup schedules to develop bikes that meet our design requirements and exceed your expectations.

    DCR

    Our Direct Cable Routing system relies on reducing drag and the possibility of contamination to ensure the best shifting performance possible.

      We've created and patented the DCR system to route the cables in the most efficient way. The goal is to ensure that you get the best performance.

      The DCR system uses a Gore Ride On cable set, providing a sealed system for each wire. Without contamination and the higher drag inherent in traditional housing, DCR reduces friction in the system by up to 25%. You'll have a lighter and more precise feel at the levers. We make sure that the cables integrate cleanly with the design of the frame rather than looking like an afterthought. DCR is a system where function, simplicity, and tidiness are paramount.

      Monocoque

      The advantages of Monocoque technology are numerous. It gives us freedom of design, perfection of form, durability, and fatigue resistance.

        Monocoque guarantees a carbon structure with optimum performance and long term reliability, and it’s the only way we’ve ever done it. We mold the one-piece structures so that each tube is connected to the next, with continuous fibers through each critical juncture. As you ride, your bike will be subjected to a variety of forces – tension, compression, torsion, etc. Our monocoque frames allow optimal distribution of these forces over the entire structure because of the perfect fusion of the composite materials.

        This is why we can offer a lifetime warranty. Monocoque assures a stable structure with properties that are guaranteed not to change over time.

        SSN

        Our design technique conceives each size individually so that each model offers the same ride and handling properties across the size range.

          SSN is more than a technology. It’s the way we build our bikes. We recognize that not all users are the same. Therefore, each of our bike models is custom tuned by size.

          Each frame size is designed individually, aligning the structure according to the desired stiffness as required by the intended cyclist’s size and body mass. By creating unique structures throughout the size range, we achieve a supreme ride quality and a balanced feel. Each size gets optimized tube diameters, in addition to a specific carbon fiber lay-up. This is a quality standard that we guarantee on our products and one which is far above the average standard required.

                Our constant efforts to ensure that Orbea bicycles are of the highest quality enable us to offer you the best guarantee possible - the Orbea Lifetime Warranty. If your frame has a manufacturing defect, we will respond quickly to solve your problem. Your warranty is activated at www.orbea.com using the unique, non-transferable registration number you'll find on the down tube of your frame.

                Once the process is complete, your bike will automatically receive its lifetime warranty. We'll have a record of your bike information should it get stolen, and you'll be able to take part in our drawings and events. You'll also have access to the latest news about Orbea, its sponsored teams and riders, and new product development.
