Andrew Starykowicz finishes with the best bike split time in the history of an Ironman 70.3!

2015-10-26

The Orbea and Orca U.S. triathlete completed the 90 kilometer bike portion of the Miami Half Ironman with a time of 1:56:11!

Andrew Starykowicz has done it again. The world's best triathlete on the bike has set the best mark of all time in a half Ironman. Starykowicz completed the 90 kilometers of the Miami Ironman 70.3 in an impressive time of 1:56:11, and with a scandalous average speed of 46.55 km/h.

This is a new milestone for the Orbea and Orca triathlete, who had just smashed the cycling record in the Challenge Roth last July. So far, the Andrew Starykowicz + new Ordu bike combination has beaten a record in every competition he has entered, paying homage to the concept behind the fifth generation of our time trial model: achieving “the time of your life”.

The new Ordu is the product of the work of Orbea designers, engineers and product managers, in collaboration with Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Thanks to them, and the tests conducted with our riders and triathletes we have achieved a revolutionary design and developed elements that improve aerodynamics, such as the FreeFlow fork and tube shapes.

The result is an efficient, adaptable and performance-oriented machine used by Andrew Starykowicz to once again astound the entire triathlon world. Andrew held second place in the final rankings with an overall time of 3:45:52. The winner was German rider Michael Raelert, who came away with this Ironman 70.3 title for the second time in a row.

Congratulations Andrew! #RideFightWin #BuildingAthletes
