Catharine Pendrel easily takes Sea Otter Classic

2015-04-19

The Canadian rider offered a world-class performance in the pro women’s cross-country in California, earning a new win for Luna Pro Team.

Catharine Pendrel was the indisputable winner at the Sea Otter Classic in Laguna Seca Raceway near Monterey, California. She led the two laps of the 27km course filled with steep climbs and descents plus a short paved stretch.

The member of Luna Pro Team was the first to cross the finish line beating favourite Emily Batty, Lea Davison and teammatesGeorgia Gould, who had won this race in 2012, and Katerina Nash, last year’s runner-up.

Pendrel stopped the clock at 2:21:28, 12 seconds ahead of Rebecca Henderson of Australia and a minute faster than Sweden’s Jenny Rissveds. Both Gould and Nash finished within the top ten, as they landed sixth and ninth, respectively.

Congratulations, Chix!
