Courtney Atkinson claims victory at Ironman 70.3 Gurye Korea!

The next race for the Australian triathlete sponsored by Orbea is the Half Ironman in Port Macquarie.

The member of Orbea Orca Triathlon Team Courtney Atkinson won this past weekend the Ironman 70.3 Gurye Korea. The event comprised a 1.9km swim in the fresh waters of Jiri-san Lake, a mostly flat 90km bike leg across the lovely rice fields of Gurye County, and a 21.1km run finishing at the Gurye Stadium, where the triathletes completed a lap of honour before crossing the finish line.
The day was marked by thick fog hanging over the lake, with a visibility of less than 20m. ‘It was like swimming in a cloud’, said Courtney after the race. He described the swim in Gurye as the ‘most unique swim I've ever done.’
The upcoming event for the Australian triathlete and his Orbea Orca is Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie. In November, he will take part in Ironman 70.3 Mandurah and in December, he will compete in Challenge Bahrain.
