Maghalie Rochette wins U-23 both days at KMC Cross Fest in Providence

Shonny Vanlandingham raced and won the Road Apple Rally and the second event of the New Mexico cyclocross series.
Maghalie Rochette completed the "Holy Week of Cyclocross" in New England, taking 7th and 6th places Saturday and Sunday respectively in the elites, and winning both days in the U-23 category at the KMC Cyclocross Festival in Providence, RI. Katie Compton won both days, which started out rainy and finished up dry.
According to Mag, "I’m happy with the results and the races because the field was very strong on both days and it is a big improvement for me compared to the previous year. That whole week was completely awesome! "
Shonny wins both Road Apple Rally and New Mexico Cross
Shonny Vanlandingham raced and won the Road Apple Rally in Farmington, NM, on her first day of the weekend. This classic race is the longest running annual mountain bike race in the world, and this year they celebrated the 34th Anniversary of this event (from 1981).
Then the next day, Vanlandingham joined the cyclocross craze and raced the second event of the New Mexico cyclocross series in Cuba, NM. She won this on her same Orbea Alma mountain bike, and commented, "I can see why people enjoy this cultish sport!"
Now the longtime former world champ will work on getting some high end speed for XTERRA World Champs on Maui, HI this October 26th. She will also work on defining her already defined bike tan line for the beach swimsuit.
