Nacer Bouhanni does it again at Critérium du Dauphiné!

2015-06-10

The Team Cofidis sprinter clinched his fifth victory this season, showing that he is the strongest man at breakaways at this year’s Critérium.

It was even more exciting this time. Team Cofidis worked well to ensure the final sprint, but Nacer Bouhanni had to work harder than Monday to secure his second victory at Critérium du Dauphinè 2015. Shooting forward like a bullet, he beat Belgium’s Jonas Vangenechten (IAM Cycling) and Slovenia’s Luka Mezgec (Giant-Alpecin) in a volcanic finale.

Stopping the clock at 5 hours, 30 minutes and 53 seconds, Bouhanni took the longest stage of Criterium du Dauphiné: 228km from Anneyron to Sisteron. The distance was enough to show why Nacer is the strongest sprinter in the peloton. ‘And the win will go to Bouhanni, of course it will!,’ the Eurosport commentator cried.

With three weeks to go before the Tour de France, the French rider is in perfect shape and highly motivated to face the challenges ahead. What is more, this win enables him to keep wearing the green jersey of the Points Classification, which he has had on since stage 2.

Congratulations again, Nacer! Your victory is a fair reward to the work done by Team Cofidis and Orbea to come up with the Orca Cofidis – a bicycle as explosive as your riding skills! #RideFightWin
