Shonny Vanlandingham wins Rockhopper XTERRA

The day after teaching a Breast Cancer fundraiser clinic, Shonny Vanlandingham won the Rockhopper XTERRA by 13 minutes over second place, and finished 6th overall in the men’s field.

This was a tune-up event for the former world champ, as she heads towards Hawaii for the XTERRA world champs.Shonny V tore up the trails in Papago Park, CO with XTERRA Rock Hopper, a truly urban triathlon in Tempe Town Lake. The 1000m swim, 13-mile bike and 3.5-mile trail run offered a challenge to all levels of off-road triathlete, and athletes earned points toward the 2015 XTERRA National Championship.

“The race was great prep for Maui with the hot and unusually humid climate from the recent rains in Phoenix”, told us Shonny.

Georgia Gould wins Cross of the North

Under a light drizzle, Georgia Gould fought off 13-year old phenom Katie Clouse to win day two of the Cross of the North Cyclocross race in Loveland, CO. She made a spur of the moment decision to race this local event for some high speed training.

Georgia said it was a “a fun course, with fun crowds, and hats off to 13 year old Katie (Clouse) who gave me a run for the money!”

Maghalie Rochette breaks the wood at Ellison Park

Maghalie Rochette took sixth and second places respectively in Rochester NY, for the Ellison Park CX Full Moon Vista. This was a UCI C1 race on Saturday and C2 on Sunday, and Mag won both in the U-23 category held on the same course both days.

Rochette will now stay home for the next two weeks, and then head to Winnipeg for the Canadian CX Nationals on October 25-26th.
