Katerina Nash misses victory at CLIF Bar CrossVegas

2014-09-12

The racer of Luna Pro Team shone at the fabulous cyclo-cross event in Las Vegas. Catharine Pendrel and Georgia Gould landed good fourth and fifth place finishes

Katerina Nash was this close to triumph at CLIF Bar CrossVegas, one of the leading, most popular cyclo-cross events in the US. The Czech racer had taken bronze in the World Championships team relay event and dominated the race on her Orbea bike in Vegas, but was defeated in a fantastic sprint by Meredith Miller, at 40:01. Katerina Nash and Katherine Compton crossed the finish line behind the American biker, all three at the same time.

It was a tough race, where the other members of Luna Pro Team, current World MTB Champion Catharine Pendrel and Georgia Gould, came close to the podium landing fourth and fifth.

‘Oh, man, CrossVegas is so cool! Felt good but unfortunately got taken out early, had to pit, missed front group. But I chased hard and threw up a little on the last lap, so I know I dug deep!’, Georgia said. As for Catharine Pendrel, she said, ‘CrossVegas did not disappoint. Great crowds, great racing. Won the wicked fast lap but crashed last lap and missed podium. Next year!’
