The bikers of Luna Pro Team were the best Team of 2 in the cumulative results of the Canadian race
BC Bike Race is not just a race. It’s a seven-day stage race from Vancouver to Whistler, getting across some of the most fascinating MTB courses Canada has to offer. It’s an ultimate experience delivered to a chosen few.
As many as 500 were at the start line, ready to pedal for 2 to 4 hours a day for an entire week. They included Luna Pro Team bikers Catharine Pendrel and Maghalie Rochette, winners in the Team of 2 Women category. Pendrel – who also won the enduro series – described their victory as ‘rewarding.’ ‘It’s been nice to celebrate this win and race well as a team. I think having each other to race with helped us. We’ve worked hard, but we’ve also had fun. I couldn’t have asked for a better teammate,’ she added.
Rochette was elated too: ‘The whole BCBR experience was fantastic. The organisation was A1, we met so many cool people from around the world… I’m so grateful that I had the chance to do the race with Catharine, she literally is a hero and I learnt a lot from her incredibly good attitude and awesome racing/riding skills all week!’
Now the Luna Pro Team girls are having a break before travelling to Ontario to take part in the Canadian XC Mountain Bike Championships on 19 July.
