Snyder, Vanlandingham within the top ten of the XTERRA USA Champs

2014-09-24

The racers of Luna Pro Team finished sixth and tenth in Ogden, Utah, the last event of the series, and squeezed into the top five at the national level

Suzie Snyder and Shonny Vanlandingham of Luna Pro Team are within the top five overall in the XTERRA USA Championships. In the final race, held in Ogden, Utah, they landed sixth and tenth, respectively.

‘Sixth isn’t the top five! I really wanted podium but considering the strength and depth of the field, I am still proud of it. I wish I had a little more in me to fight for 5th out of T2 and the 3rd spot in the US Pro Points series but it’s still an improvement over the past couple years finishing 5th,’ said Suzie.

Shonny considered the race as a challenge. ‘I have had a nagging shoulder injury so have had limited swim training. Aside from a “delayed” wink swim exit, I raced steady,’ said the rider of Luna Pro Team, who has already set sight on her upcoming challenge.

‘I have done a huge block of endurance work, putting all my eggs in one basket, the XTERRA World Championship on Maui. Time to generate some speed these next 5 weeks and peak for the Big One!,’ remarked the 2010 Xterra World Champion.
