Malene Degn: "I cannot wait to ride with my red and white jersey"

"I was not feeling confident before the 2019 Danish National Championship despite my successful World Cup previous results (5th place in Nove Mesto). I really needed to spend more time with my family. Therefore, I prepared this national competition with my MTB crew, my own family and my boyfriend as well. Annika Langvad was out with injury so I had an opportunity to win. I did not feel well during the first lap but I wanted that win so bad! I rode with Orbea Oiz and it was the right choice to make. I attacked with 2.5 lap to go and it was a great effort until the finish line. To me, my mission is accomplished and I am truly proud of this national title! What about the rest of the season? There is no particular plan for now. I just want to take one step at the time but I cannot wait to ride with my new red and white jersey for sure!"

From now on, after Annie Last (England), there are two national championship winners in KMC-EKOI-ORBEA team. Malene Degn will wear her new jersey (as you can see below) for the next World Cup race in Vallnord (6-7 july).

Annie Last and Victor Koretzky will run the French Cup third round in Levens (06) on June 30th. Milan Vader will be at the “3 Nations Cup” in Houffalize (Belgium) and Florian Vogel will attend the “Proffix Bike Cup” in Andermatt (Switzerland).
