Jade Wilcoxson Soaring to glory

USA Cycling Professional Road National Champion

Jade Wilcoxson
Congratulations to Optum Pro Cycling star Jade Wilcoxson on her recent win at the USPRO Women’s Road Race.  Her hard work and perseverance paid off in the fierce battle for this US National title in which constant attacks and aggressive racing marked the day’s event.
Off the bike, she’s a mild mannered lady who prefers to eat locally grown foods and strives to reduce her carbon footprint. Jade even grows a lot of her own food to make sure that she gets the sort of nutrition that she needs to be an athlete at the top of her sport. As gentle and friendly as Jade is when she has her feet up, she can flip a switch and become super competitive. To toe the line with her is to compete with someone driven towards one goal - to win.
Jade’s success has been remarkable for many reasons, one of which is her relative late start to the world of professional cycling.  She is currently 35 and has only been racing for nine years to this point.
Several years ago, Jade was diagnosed as pre-diabetic, though her blood sugars have been normal for the last couple years.  This diagnosis led her to cycling as a means to manage her health. And it is obvious that she has managed to do much more than that.
