We strongly believe that we are here to help change the world with what we do and how we do it. Our corporate values motivate us to lead projects in line with this goal.

For some time now, we have been designing a strategy to support one of the world’s most vulnerable groups: children. As part of this concern, we have been talking to UNICEF. They’re no doubt the best ones to tackle these matters.

The current situation has strengthened our convictions, and now we’re taking a step forward. We’ve intensified our conversations to provide our support with the urgency called for by the situation.

Our cooperative has decided to support UNICEF in its Emergency campaign against COVID-19.

Through this effort, we will contribute to fundraising in order to supply medical supplies, such as gloves, masks, sanitizing gel and detection kits.

As a first step, we’re holding a charity auction on eBay.

Until April 13, we’re putting up for auction one of the bikes we designed for the Orbea Factory Team to ride in the Cape Epic. We had two versions ready for the race, so you can take home the one you like best.

As you know, the top international MTB race had to be suspended in March as the result of the current health crisis.

The bicycle up for auction is a special edition of the Orbea Oiz model with the M-LTD configuration.

In addition to the bike, the pack being auctioned off is complemented by a set of cycling gear (also special edition) designed for the race.

The apparel, ready for its debut, will be signed by the four cyclists of the Orbea Factory Team who would have taken part in the Cape Epic. Remember them? Ibon Zugasti, Gotzon Martín, “Purito” Rodríguez and Oliver Avilés. A real luxury!

Enter on eBay and place your bid for a good cause. You can find all the details about the charity auction at the following address:

The final amount earned will be donated in full by Orbea to UNICEF.

We’ll also hold a second charity auction on April 20, following the same procedure.

Both the auction-winning person or organization and information about the second edition will be posted in the next blog article and shared on Orbea’s social networks.

Challenges are part of our DNA. These days, we’re moving forward with the Orbea 500 Challenge. This sports challenge only makes sense in the context of this enormous challenge: fighting against the virus and helping those threatened by the pandemic.

Contributing with an auction is the first step in our commitment to children. We’re also going to help UNICEF with fundraising, attempting to raise awareness in our brand community. As we’ve already said, we’ll use all the power of our channels to publicize UNICEF’s campaign, seeking donations.

Orbea intends to continue cooperating with UNICEF in the future. Once this emergency is over, we will work to identify common goals. From where we are, we want to help make the world a little better place. It’s our obligation.

If you also want to take part, we invite you to donate to UNICEF for the fight against the Coronavirus in your country.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
