Andrew “The Revenant” Starykowicz beats the bicycle record in the Monterrey Ironman 70.3!
2017-05-14
After beating his own record on the bicycle in an Ironman competition, Andrew set the best time in the entire history of the Mexican race, stopping the clock at one hour, 57 minutes and 22 seconds.
From one record to the next. One thing is sure... Andrew “The Revenant” Starykowicz is back in a big way. Just a couple of weeks ago he beat the cycling record in an Ironman, but the U.S. triathlete doesn't seem satisfied with his numbers. Today in the Monterrey Ironman 70.3 he did it again.
Andrew flew by on his Ordu to stop the clock at one hour, 57 minutes and 22 seconds. Another record! His was the best bicycle time in the history of the Mexican competition. No one needs reminding that Andrew returned to competition 8 months after being struck by a van while training. He’s a sports machine who once again has shown with his performance what he is capable of.
The race was ultimately won by U.S. triathlete Kevin Collington, with a time of 3 hours, 42 minutes and 9 seconds. Starykowicz finished ninth, squeezing in the Top 10 of the race.
Congratulations, Andrew!
