The two-time world champion Olympic medalist Catharine Pendrel came away with a magnificent fifth place finish in the World Cup race held in Lenzerheide (Switzerland).
The Canadian biker crossed the finish line 2'12'' behind Olympic champion Jenny Rissveds, who put on quite the show in the last lap to pull ahead of Dutch rider Anne Terpstra. This was in spite of the fall the Swedish rider suffered in the first lap of the race.
Pendrel also took a tumble, which caused her to lose precious time. At the end of the race, she engaged in an incredible duel with Swiss rider Sina Frei. In front of them, Swiss biker Jolanda Neff had a flat in the last lap, which allowed Pendrel to comfortably remain in what was ultimately fifth place.
