Seppe Odeyn Declared World Long Distance Duathlon Champion!
The Orbea athlete earned the title last Sunday at the Powerman Zofingen World Long Distance Duathlon Championship (Switzerland), with a time of 6:23.43
Odeyn, who besides being a champion is Orbea's representative in Belgium, set a time of 6:23.43 in order to complete a 10 km race, 150 km on bike and another 30 km on foot, obtaining a five-minute advantage over the German second place finisher Felix Köhler (6:28.55), and ten minutes over third place Danish duathlete Soren Bystrup.
“My intention was to finish in the Top-20…so for me, it has been a perfect race and a wonderful day,” Odeyn assured after crossing the finish line in first place. This was his third time at Zofingen. In 2015, he earned 2nd place and in 2014, he finished in 4th place.
With this spectacular race, Seppe Odeyn becomes the new World Long Distance Duathlon Champion , crowning a season in which he also won the St. Wendel Poweman and the Hosingen Powerman Duathlon, among others.
