Targeted Stiffness

Countless hours of simulation, prototyping and testing shaped a new frame with targeted stiffness in key areas. The 36% increase in global frame stiffness is driven largely by improved torsional rigidity. On the complex circuits of modern XC racing, this translates into on efficiency on tough climbs, precision on technical descents and responsiveness during flat out sprints.

Forged Alloy Linkage

We used Finite Element Analysis to optimize the forged alloy linkage, removing unnecessary material and minimizing its overall dimensions. The compact structure is less vulnerable to flex by reducing the leverage forces can exert on the linkage itself, while strategic internal cut-outs increase stiffness and reduce weight by around 30%.

Seatstay Bridge

Placed in front of the seat tube to maximize rear-end stiffness, the seatstay bridge locks the shock and rear triangle together. This maintains precise alignment and resists side-loading under heavy pedaling and suspension forces.

Compacted Carbon

Smoother frame shapes eliminate sharp transitions, allowing tighter carbon compaction and reducing excess epoxy. Since epoxy adds weight but not stiffness this improves the stiffness to weight ratio.

Winged For Stiffness

The winged top tube structure increases structural stiffness under real-world race loads, limiting frame twist to maintain precise pivot alignment and smooth suspension performance.

Rear Triangle Tube Profiles

Chainstays and seatstays are shaped for maximum torsional stiffness without unnecessary weight, improving stability and tracking in rough terrain. A post-mount brake interface distributes braking forces more evenly through the rear structure, reducing torsional deflection under load.

Powerspine

The lower part of the frame, from the head tube to the bottom bracket, is critical for power transfer, especially during sprints. Improving stiffness in this area results in big gains.

Race Tuned Suspension

Suspension tuned for efficiency, traction, and control when it matters most. From the earliest stages of the project, we worked with FOX. The shock tune for the new Oiz was developed specifically to achieve our target performance curve and the exact ride characteristics we wanted.

Travel

120 mm of travel front and rear—the World Cup standard—is the natural choice for fast, demanding XC riding. If you’re looking for an even more capable Oiz, you can also opt for a 130 mm fork.

Regressive Kinematics

Triumph on the race-course requires efficiency and maximum traction on the climbs, even with the shock wide open. This is where a regressive kinematic offers a better balance of efficiency and composure than more traditional linear or progressive setups.

Firmer Initial Stroke
Greater support early in the travel reduces unwanted sag and limits bobbing with the suspension open, maintaining geometry and an optimal riding position.
Supple Mid Stroke
Deeper in the travel, sensitivity increases to help absorb bumps and deliver traction while maintaining control.
Bottom-out Resistance
The suspension’s natural ramp-up resists hard bottom-outs, absorbing big impacts without harshness while maintaining control.
Anti-Squat
A high level of anti-squat resists pedalling forces at the start of the travel, where you spend more time climbing. This helps Oiz to respond instantly and accelerate without hesitation.

Patented I-line Tech

Our patented i-Line suspension technology creates a perfectly straight internal path for the rear shock remote lockout. Removing cable bends reduces friction for smoother actuation, improved efficiency, and long-term reliability.

Squidlock

Dropper and suspension control is just a click away. Two levers allow you to control a dropper post and access three shock lockout positions without moving your hand from the bars. Compact and reliable, Squidlock integrates with either Shimano or SRAM brake clamps and works with many suspension systems.

Slacker head angle

A slightly slacker front end complements the increased capability of the new frame and suspension, improving confidence and control on fast descents without sacrificing aggressive XC race handling.

Steeper seat tube

A more forward riding position improves power generation and front-wheel traction on steep climbs.

Stack

One of the lowest stack heights on the market, to attack every climb. Optimized for a 120mm fork to keep weight on the front wheel for turning and climbing

Shorter chainstays

Shortened 2mm. A small change with noticeably improved acceleration and more agile, responsive handling. We tested with all our riders and everyone preferred the shortest possible chainstays, even on XL frames.

Low stack headset spacer

Achieve a lower, more aggressive position with 8 mm less stack than standard. Best suited to riders with the flexibility and control to take advantage of it.

Improved Frame Construction

By eliminating sharp transitions and ridges, carbon compaction is improved. This reduces excess resin in critical areas, saving weight while increasing rigidity.

Low Weight, High Performance

The ultimate goal was never lightness alone, but creating the fastest and best-performing race bike possible. Multiple carbon layups were developed and tested before arriving at the final structure, balancing low weight with the stiffness, precision and ride feel required for elite XC racing.

Even in blind testing, riders consistently preferred the final layup over a prototype that was nearly 50 g lighter, confirming that the best-performing frame isn’t always the lightest one.
