The top-level enduro rim uses our enduro carbon tune, which adds strength with the minimum weight penalty.
Front and rear-specific designs allow us to add extra compliance in the front wheel to help find grip in the most challenging corners and increase rigidity and puncture resistance on the rear.
Designing hubs and rims together allows us to create a complete wheelset which works together, maximising performance, in addition to being able to create more aesthetically pleasing wheelsets.
Oquo hub LTD Deg
Our MC wheelsets are built for the roughest trails, combining performance and reliability without excess weight. The fully CNC machined hub body ensures maximum strength and precision, while the DT Swiss Ratchet DEG system with dual 72 tooth ratchets and a 5º engagement angle delivers instant power transfer, better load distribution, and lasting durability where it matters most.
Enduro Carbon Tune
Tuning the carbon layup and using shorter, aligned fibers gives a wheel that is 40% stronger in our tests, ideal for the most aggressive riders or the roughest tracks.
Front and rear specific
Each wheel has a different job to do and experiences different forces. OQUO wheels use front and rear specific designs, that means considering rim profiles, spokes and build specifications carefully to maximise performance. It is more work but the benifits are clear.
Aluminium Pinch Protection
Pinch punctures happen when the tire is pinched between an external object and the edge of the rim. Our updated rim design increases the size of the critical bead area by 50%, distributing impacts and, in combination with a rounded edge profile, offering superior resistance to pinch punctures.
Asymmetric Rims
Asymmetric rims allow us to make a more triangular shape with the spokes from each side of the rim, balancing the spoke lengths and tensions. This means each spoke takes an equal amount of strain. In short, asymmetric rims mean fewer spoke sizes, more balanced tensions, and stronger, more reliable wheels.
Angled Spoke Holes
Matching the angle of the spoke hole to the angle that the spoke leaves the rim at means that we can greatly reduce the stress at the spoke head. Implementing this technology requires added design and manufacturing work but the result is a far more reliable wheel with less chance of breaking spokes.
Reinforced Spoke Beds
There is more stress on a rim where the spokes exert tension. Reinforcing these areas increases the reliability of the rim without adding excessive weight.
J-Bend Spokes
In our reliability testing j-bend spokes show a significant increase in fatigue resistance, meaning a wheel which stays true and strong for longer.
Secure Nipple Lock
We apply a custom threadlock liquid to each nipple individually. This liquid creates increased friction between the threaded part of the spoke and the nipple, eliminating the air between them, ensuring that the spokes don't lose tension, whilst allowing adjustments if needed.
Hookless Rims
Hookless rims have straight sidewalls, rather than a hooked design. The main advantage is that they are lighter however with our Wide Bead design we have also measured a significant improvement in impact resistance.
Uniform Spoke Lengths
By developing our hub, which matches our rims, we can achieve a uniform spoke length on both sides of the wheel. The result is a stronger wheel with more balance tension
